'THIS BLOCK' SINGLE, TOUR

khancoban - This Block from khancoban on Vimeo.

This Block, our new two track single, is available in a home made CD package or on download here

Half folk-half noise, Khancoban's music has been described by the Sydney Morning Herald as spacious interior music, big on emotion but small on drama. After two releases on the renowned Half A Cow label, Khancoban return with their latest single ‘This Block’, giving audiences a taste of the album they are currently creating with producer Nick Huggins. Like a fox after a rabbit in early morning, ‘This Block’ pulsates with a breathlessness that suggests to the listener the feeling of keeping up with and capturing a good idea after it occurs and leaps away. This Block is being released through Melbourne label Departed Sounds.

April 2010 Update

We have been busy recording again with producer Nick Huggins at the 'Pocket Full of Stones' studio. He is an amazing engineer/producer/musician and part of the Two Bright Lakes crowd, who do many great things.

We have updated the studio diary with some news and photos from the sessions.

Big news is that we'll be releasing a new single in July of this year. Very excited about this one. It is being released through our friends at Departed Sounds . Check them out, they are a new label, and new home to ourselves, Gaslight Radio, Lindsay Phillips, Andrew Keese and the Associates, Amaya Laucirica, Tobias Cummings.

We're also off to the WAMI festival in Perth in a few weeks so please send word to anyone you might know over there. After that there will be some separate international adventuring before the single release.

Here is a photo of our rehearsal space, where we had a most lovely show recently.
