2010, thanks for coming

It might be a little premature to be wrapping up 2010, but it seems time to let you know about our movements to the end of the year and to look back a little, too.  We recently released our new single This Block with shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra (first time there, it was a blast!).  We have a bunch of fantastic shows that'll take us to 2011. Most of these shows are in Melbourne, but there is something special in NSW over NYE. Will get to that.

First up, we are supporting Lee Memorial as they launch a couple of new singles at The Empress on Saturday October 23rd. Joining in for the show are The Orbweavers, who also recently launched a new single of their own. Lee Memorial features Karl and also Pete from one of our favourite bands, Sodastream. Pete also played in khancoban for a time and was a big part of recording and playing on our Limbs May Fall album.

Following that we're supporting We All Want To, who are the new band for Tim Steward of Screamfeeder. They are launching their new album with a show at The Birmingham. Also along for the ride are Tall Buildings, who feature members of Gersey. Saturday October 30th for this one.

November will see us back recording, again with producer Nick Huggins, but this time in a seaside locale. We are super excited about the album we are making. It is shaping up really nicely. We have gone for a different approach this time and recorded it intermittently over a period of 15 months or so and the results are as varied as the changes that occur in people/a band over that time. You can hear first single This Block right now over to your left. The album should be released in the first part of 2011.

We are also organising a warehouse show on Saturday November 20th. The lineup is a dream for us - ourselves, Lee Memorial, Single Twin, Microflora.  It is happening in the space where we rehearse and follows on from a show there earlier in the year. More on this as it approaches.

Finally, we have been invited to play at this year's Peats Ridge Festival over the NYE period in NSW. Peats Ridge takes place in the Glenworth Valley an hour north of Sydney and runs for three days from December 29 to NYE.  Other acts on the bill include our faves Built To Spill and Shout Out Louds.
